After visiting this paradise I of course feel like sharing some cool places and tips with you, so here is my top five from Jericoacoara that definitely will convince you to visit this beautiful Brazilian village one day, Uhhh!

1- Go to “Lagoa do Paraíso”:

One of the most famous destinations in Jericoacara, the place is well known as a paradise for its white sand and crystal clear water in an amazing mix of blue and green tones. There you can relax in the famous hammocks in the lake and go for a relaxing walk to enjoy the beautiful view. We also went to the “Alchymist Beach Club” to have some Brazilian snacks (Macaxeira cheese balls) while appreciating the cool view.

2- Enjoy the sunset at the village beach:

After the sunset on the amazing Koh Yao Yai island, Thailand, this one is definitely among the most beautiful I have experienced. People gather on top of the giant dune next to the village to enjoy the last few seconds of sun, but no matter where you are the view is simply amazing. After then sun has set, you are likely to see groups of people dancing “capoeira” (A typical Brazilian Martial art,  developed by African slaves in Brazil and inspired by their fighting style from sub-Sahara Africa). This really sets the tone for a joyful Jeri night.

3- Eat at “Na casa dela”:

Cosy, simple and nice food. This outdoor restaurant with a sand floor made me fall in love with their rustic decoration as it, like Pousada Carcará, captures the “soul of Jeri”. The service is nice and the entire staff speaks English (if you don’t know Portuguese), the prices are reasonable and most importantly the traditional Brazilian food is so tasty. I highly recommend going there for dinner!

4- Hike the beautiful dunes

At our hotel they offer these cars that are made for small trips around the cool places of Jeri. We chose to go alone, so we were able to choose exactly our favourite places to go and how many stops we wanted to make, which was really nice. Our driver, Fabrício, was super friendly and stopped patiently in all the places we asked for, including the beautiful dunes on the way. Don’t miss the chance to hike them, the view from up there is awesome and running down is so fun!

5- Go to “Pedra Furada”

Go for a walk to these beautiful rocks in the sea and get a beautiful view from the beach, despite of the long walk, you must see it! The only negative thing is that the place is full of tourists so it is a bit difficult to actually relax there.
