After a few incredible days in Amsterdam, we continued our summer adventure to another favorite—the enchanting city of Marrakech, Morocco. It had been eight years since our last visit, and a return was long overdue. From the moment we arrived, we could feel the magic of this vibrant city once again.
We landed in the morning, and as soon as we got through customs, we shared a funny moment with the officer, who ended up scrolling through my Instagram just to make sure I was who I said I was—a laugh we’ll never forget! Then, stepping outside into the warm Moroccan air, we were greeted by our friendly driver, ready to whisk us away to a place we’d been dreaming about—Selman Marrakech.
It was our first time staying at this luxurious gem, and after months of research and scrolling through stunning photos online, our expectations were sky-high. Selman Marrakech did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, a refreshing drink, and delicious local snacks.
The interiors were everything we had hoped for—classic Moroccan design infused with modern style. The blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary elegance made it feel like stepping into a palace.
Selman Marrakech is more than a hotel; it’s an experience. Located just outside the bustle of the city, it offers peace, privacy, and unparalleled luxury. Between the stables with their magnificent Arabian horses, the longest pool in Africa, and the immaculately landscaped gardens, the property is truly exceptional.
Our suite was stunning, complete with a spacious living room, grand bathroom, and a private terrace overlooking the grounds—a place where we could fully take in the beauty of Selman.
After settling in, we headed to lunch at La Terrasse restaurant. If the dishes look good in pictures, they’re even better in person. We began with a light avocado dish, followed by expertly grilled meats, mashed potatoes, and fresh greens. And then—oh my god—the churros and chocolate fondant. It was indulgent, yes, but heavenly.
The rest of the day was spent wandering the grounds, visiting the horses, and cooling off in the hotel’s iconic pool. Swimming in Africa’s longest pool, surrounded by lush gardens, felt like a dream.
The next morning, we woke to a breathtaking sunrise. Sitting on our balcony with coffee in hand, it felt as though we were the only two people in the world. After a quick gym session, we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, bathed in sunlight while local musicians created the perfect soundtrack to the morning.
The atmosphere at Selman Marrakech is unlike anything else—it elevates relaxation to a whole new level. After a busy period leading up to this trip, we finally felt ourselves unwind. Days melted into a rhythm of lounging by the pool, spa visits, and long chats on our private balcony.
That evening, we dined at Assyl, the hotel’s Moroccan restaurant. The food was exceptional—the pastilla (savory pastry with chicken and almonds) and tajine were unforgettable. And, to my delight, coconut ice cream was on the menu!
As if that weren’t enough, the night came alive with a belly dance performance and a horse show, making the experience truly magical. We ended the evening full of incredible memories.
The next day was extra special—it was my birthday. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to celebrate. We began with an in-room breakfast for a laid-back morning, and then came the surprise: a decadent chocolate birthday cake filled with caramel sauce, arranged by the hotel. It was as beautiful as it was delicious.
Later, I treated myself to a traditional Hammam at the spa. It was my first time experiencing it, and I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with the softest skin imaginable. Despite the scorching 40–45°C heat, refreshing dips in the pools kept us cool.
That evening, we celebrated with a Michelin-worthy dinner at Sabo, the hotel’s French-inspired restaurant by Chef Jean-François Piège. Each dish was exquisite, and the atmosphere made it unforgettable. My birthday celebration at Selman Marrakech was everything I had hoped for—luxurious, relaxing, and filled with love and care.
On our final day, we tried to soak in as much as possible before leaving. After a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, one last swim, and quiet moments in the gardens, we felt completely renewed. The serenity of Selman Marrakech had washed away all our stress.
We left knowing we’d found a new favorite hotel—one that now sits firmly at the top of our must-revisit list.
Thank you, Selman Marrakech, for the unforgettable experience, the warmth, and the magic. We cannot wait to return.
