Returning to Prague after ten years felt like stepping back into one of our earliest travel memories—only this time, with a deeper appreciation for the city’s charm and culture. Getting there was remarkably easy, with just a 25-minute drive from the airport to the Mandarin Oriental, Prague, a true sanctuary nestled in the historic Malá Strana district.
Set within a beautifully restored 14th-century monastery, the hotel blends centuries-old architecture with contemporary luxury. Vaulted ceilings, original stone corridors, and tranquil courtyards give the entire property a timeless, intimate feel. From the moment we arrived, the warm and gracious service made us feel instantly at home.
We stayed in a spacious and beautifully designed suite—a perfect blend of historic character and modern elegance. Mandarin Oriental always delivers pure sophistication, and this stay was no exception.
The city welcomed us with golden sunlight—ideal for leisurely strolls along cobblestone streets lined with pastel buildings, hidden courtyards, and artisan cafés. Prague’s unmistakable bohemian vibe—where history and creativity coexist—was alive on every corner. One of the greatest joys was simply walking. Thanks to the hotel’s prime location just a short stroll from the iconic Charles Bridge, we had easy access to the city’s key sights.
A highlight was our visit to the Klementinum, a breathtaking complex of historic buildings just across the bridge. The Baroque library inside is a hidden gem, with centuries-old globes, ornate wooden interiors, and walls lined with ancient books. Climbing the Astronomical Tower rewarded us with sweeping views of Prague’s red rooftops and elegant spires—truly unforgettable.
As the sun began to set on our first evening, we enjoyed a perfect dinner at Monastiq, the hotel’s restaurant, bathed in golden light on their terrace. Ah, summer! A brief rainstorm added a romantic touch, nudging us indoors just in time for dessert. The meal was spectacular—tender meat, rich flavors, and churros that were simply to die for.
The next morning, a gentle drizzle made our early walk through the city feel utterly magical. There’s something peaceful about watching Prague awaken under umbrellas and soft rain. When thunder rolled in, we returned to the hotel—an ideal excuse to indulge in a sumptuous breakfast: fresh berries, eggs Benedict, and strong coffee in the serene dining room.
One of the true highlights of our trip was the spa at Mandarin Oriental. Housed in a former Renaissance chapel, the space feels sacred and soothing. I had the Oriental Essence, the spa’s signature full-body massage. Using custom-blended Oriental oils and techniques inspired by traditional therapies, the treatment focused on stress-holding areas like the back, neck, and shoulders. It was not only restorative but genuinely healing.
What made the experience unforgettable was my therapist, Mariana—a truly special, one-of-a-kind soul. From the moment we met, there was an effortless connection. Our session included expert hands and thoughtful conversation, making the treatment feel deeper, more personal. I’ve enjoyed many wonderful massages, but this one stood out as profoundly meaningful. I left feeling relaxed, centered, and incredibly grateful.
On our final day, we embraced tradition and took things slow. In-room breakfast, soft music, and long conversations were the perfect send-off. This weekend escape reminded us of how much we love this city—and how much we’ve grown together since our first visit. A heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful team at Mandarin Oriental, Prague—you made our stay truly unforgettable. We won’t wait another ten years to return.
