If you follow me on instagram or snapchat (@JoicyMuniz ), you probably have noticed that I am totally obsessed with pastel colors right now, to be more precise with rose quartz and blue serenity. Last Friday I got my nails done by the sweet Sol Quito from Nail fix. Sol is like 1000 persons in one, she is fitness athlete, she teaches how to walk as a gracious lady in high heels and she rocks at nail art. Oh yeah, and you will see this in the end of this post. This was my first time getting shellac nails and all I can say is that I love it.
The shellac is a nail treatment, which is sometimes referred to as a gel manicure and it promises to be a long-lasting manicure. According to Sol it can last up to a full month without chips, breaks or the need for extra coats, but ideally you renew your shellac after 15 days.
Nail fix is also a nail salon that practices good hygiene, because you should start with healthy fingernails before you apply the shellac. After some important considerations, let’s go to the color!
I chose the blue serenity to match with some rose quartz outfits, and I loove the result. It’s beautiful, sweet and makes me in a good mood, a summer mood.
Let’s check the step by step of my nails:
– Shape the nails with a nail file / Push back cuticles / Wash and sanitize the hands / Clean nail plate and remove excess oils
-Apply one thin layer of CND Shellac Base Coat / Cure under a UV lamp for 10 seconds
-Apply one thin coat of CND Shellac Color / Cure under UV lamp for 2 minutes / Apply a second coat of CND Shellac Color / Cure under UV lamp for 2 minutes.
-Apply one thin layer of CND Shellac UV Top Coat / Cure under UV lamp for 2 minutes / Remove top film with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol / Apply cuticle oil to all fingers.
All I can say is: I highly recommend you to get your shellac nails with Sol. She really knows what she is doing and to have a skilled and professional person is more than important for this treatment.
