Herskind´s AW 2024 collection comes with distinct 50s style references. The waist is accentuated, the midi skirts are back, and oversized petit coats are reintroduced – all adding sentiments of “The New Look” to the contemporary Herskind wardrobe. For Herskind AW24 inspiration was drawn from voracious reading of literary works, from the streets of Copenhagen, Paris, and New York, and from the women who leave a mark on the world. The Herskind sensibility revolves around embracing contrasts: like pairing a patent leather coat with a dainty slip dress, a classic shift dress with bold piercings, and an oversize blazer with a see-through dress. The Herskind silhouette is about elevating classics, empowering the wearer, adding structure to luxurious garments, and making room for versatility: if a dress is long, a bare shoulder adds a subtle contrast of skin; if a jacket is oversized, balance is achieved with fitted elements underneath. Herskind collections consistently feature the perfect suit, impeccable coats, timeless dresses, and refined men’s shirts – elements that are easy to layer, open for interpretation and consciously sourced. Trends are reimagined into wearable pieces, while hints of skin, whether through button-up details or strategic cuts, adds an edgy sophistication to every design.
This season Herskind reinterpreted their signature suits and featured them with 50’s midi-skirts, flirty miniskirts, fitted waistcoats, and a new graphic cut jacket with a distinctive one-button closure. The Herskind woman is one of confidence and drive, and she opts for the sexy interpretations of minimalist dressing. The collection color palette is careful established: black, white, and cream – mixed with earthy tones like green and brown, while seasonal hues of red, oxblood, pale yellow, and grey in all tones inject vibrancy to the overall impression. Herskind is always opting for quality choices that will render the wardrobe exciting and durable, so a shearling statement coat in lush brown and a polished lambskin coat with rock n’ roll fringes are the key styles of the season. Another key style is the maxi length Ultra coat with its cinched waist and strong shoulders that comes in both pure wool or with a patent coated surface. More subtle but equally enduring designs entail retro-zip leather jackets paying homage to the minimalism of the 50s and 90s, Chunky mohair pullovers in a deep ox blood hue, a delicate light-yellow coat with a dainty fringe detail, and our iconic slip dress reimagined in new black and cream renditions.
“The pursuit of personal style and timeless quality informs everything we do at Herskind. This foundation allows the creativity to flourish, and while we embrace emerging trends, we render them in wearable and unique styles, elevating the cues from the street and adapting them to the contemporary woman. Above all, each collection is founded on curiosity, taste and self-critique; it is our pursuit of excellence that shapes every creation at Herskind.” – Birgitte Herskind, creative director & founder.
