When you are travelling to Cappadocia there is one thing you simply need to do before you leave: Go for a hot air balloon ride! The place is famous for its balloons flying over the beautiful nature and moon-like landscape while the sun rises.
We of course also wanted to get the experience of floating 300m above the ground, watching the sunrise and surrounded by many other balloons. There are many balloon companies in Cappadocia, but I am confident we chose the best one: Royal Balloon.
The balloon rides take place every morning around sunrise (except days when wind conditions do not allow it). On the day we chose to go, we were picked up at Kayakapi by Royal Balloon and went for some breakfast close to the take-off site while the balloons were getting prepared. After getting a little bit of food, we went to see to see the spectacular moment when the balloons are being inflated.
After that, countdown for take-off! So exciting!
Our pilot was Tolga, who was very professional and made everybody feel comfortable with his good sense of humour!
We really enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful ride and it was impossible not to take a lot of pictures and videos, as you can see in the post, because the view was simply stunning and we had such a good time! The balloon is surprisingly stable as it climbs up to around 300m, where you have the most perfect view of the hills and valleys in Cappadocia and when the sun rises, it is magical! (probably the most beautiful sunrise I’ve seen in my life).
To my surprise, the balloons from Royal Balloon have Wi-Fi! So if you want to share everything with family and friends you can even live-stream your adventures. Haha
Our pilot made the perfect landing and to celebrate this amazing moment we had some champagne, cookies and strawberries.
All I can say is: If you go to Cappadocia you need to try this! This was one of the purest and most beautiful experiences I had in my life. The feeling of freedom when watching the sun rise over the stunning nature of Cappadocia from up there made me speechless, strong and happy. Thanks @royalballoon for the most wonderful experience! I can’t wait to come back for another experience in the sky. ❤
