During our days in Hong Kong, we got the chance to stay in the iconic Landmark area and in the beautiful The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. The location is great, in the middle of the famous shopping street, and near most other attractions, which made it easy for us to go for nice strolls around the neighbourhood. As you come to expect from any Mandarin Oriental hotel, we were received with a lot of warmth and felt welcomed from the moment we stepped into the lobby. Our suite was nothing short of amazing with a nice bedroom, an adjacent wardrobe area and a very comfortable king-sized bed. On the other side was a spacious living room with some lovely champagne, sweets and welcome tea awaiting us and, in between, was the huge bathroom with a gorgeous hot tub, perfect for relaxation.
The weather forecast was not so promising for the days of our stay. Luckily, we had a special itinerary at the hotel, so we were confident we would have some unforgettable days if even if the rain remained strong. The first night, we got to enjoy dinner in the cosy restaurant SOMM in the hotel, where we had the pleasure to experience the SOMM degustation menu. Every single dish was so tasty, and it was easy to see that the chef had cared for each detail when creating the menu. The wine pairing included some excellent wine selections and the whole team was very attentive to make sure we had a great time. We loved the ambiance and intimacy of the restaurant and enjoyed the privacy at the corner table we had. It was simply a perfect start to our days in Landmark MO!
The next day, we decided to start the day slow after an excellent sleep and the best way to do this is of course with some in room breakfast. The rain was still strong, but it didn’t matter much when we could sit and listen to some good music, drink some nice coffee and tea with a delicious breakfast spread and simply enjoy each other’s company. What more could you wish for?
After the slow morning, we had a special appointment. We were invited for a special Louis Vuitton presentation – Savoir Rêver, just a few minutes from the hotel in Pedder St. As a very big LV lover, I enjoyed a lot! It was a very inspiring visit and I loved so many of the creative designs and ideas. I could really see myself bringing home many of the interior design items and all the bags and jewellery, haha! Afterwards, we went for a walk in the rain to see the surrounding area, which was filled with incredible stores from the biggest fashion houses. It is always fun to walk around and do a bit of trendspotting and shopping.
In the afternoon, we had another special treat, as we had booked a spa treatment in the hotel. First, we had an Oriental Essence massage, followed by one hour relaxation in the Sanctuary Suite. This was a simply incredible experience with the nicest and highly skilled masseuses, followed by a 1-hour mental detox with access to hot tub and steam room, nice teas, and a serene atmosphere. We left completely refreshed and renewed without any jetlag in our bodies. I can highly recommend treating yourself with this unique experience.
Mandarin Oriental always delivers top level service and incredible facilities. We had some unforgettable days during our visit to the Landmark property in Hong Kong. We might not have been lucky with the weather this time, but we still left with some amazing memories and next time we visit the city, we will be hoping for some sunny days, and we will surely once again want to experience the excellent service and hospitality at Landmark MO!
